What this policy covers
This policy explains what Yorkshire Store collects when you shop at yorkshirestore.shop, why we hold it and how long we keep it. It is written to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP 2023) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act 2000).
What we collect
Your name, delivery address, PIN code, phone number and email address; the contents and value of your order; and basic technical information such as the pages you viewed and the device you used. That is the whole list.
What we never hold
We never store card numbers, CVV codes or your UPI PIN. A UPI payment is authorised inside your own bank’s app, and all that reaches us is a reference number telling us the payment succeeded.
Why we hold it
To pack and deliver the order, to answer support messages, to process returns and replacement requests, to keep the accounting records the law requires, and to spot fraudulent ordering patterns. We do not sell personal data and we do not rent mailing lists.
Who else sees it
Only the parties who have to: our courier partners, who receive the name, address and phone number printed on the label; our payment provider, which handles the UPI authorisation; and our hosting and email providers, which store the site and its messages.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets cookies that keep your cart and session working, and aggregate analytics cookies that tell us which pages are read. You can block or clear them in your browser; the cart may stop remembering items if you do.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it once the order and its return window are closed and no accounting obligation requires us to keep it. Write to [email protected] and we will act within thirty days.
Retention and security
Order records are kept for the period Indian accounting rules require, then deleted. The site runs over HTTPS and access to the order database is restricted to the proprietor.
Children
This shop is not intended for anyone under eighteen and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will erase it.
Grievance Officer
The proprietor of Yorkshire Store acts as the Grievance Officer for the purposes of the IT Act 2000 and DPDP 2023, and can be reached in writing at the registered address given on our Contact page. Complaints about privacy, or about a replacement request that has stalled, are acknowledged within forty-eight hours and resolved within thirty days.
